Individual Therapy in Pasadena, CA

Here, you don’t have to have it together to show up. In-person and online sessions available.

You’ve been managing. But managing isn't the same as living.

Maybe things look fine from the outside. You’re functional, you show up, and you keep things moving. But underneath, something feels off. A low hum of anxiety never fully quiets. Your relationships hit the same walls. You carry more than you should, and no one sees how heavy the weight has become.

Individual therapy in Pasadena offers a space to set that weight down. We look at it together without judgment, without a timeline, and without you having to earn the right to be here.

Maybe you're here because...

  • Anxiety feels manageable until it suddenly isn't.

  • A difficult experience still dictates your present.

  • Your relationships stay stuck in patterns you cannot break.

  • You know something needs to change, but you cannot name it yet.

  • You hit a wall while trying to work through things alone.

  • Life looks okay on paper, but you feel disconnected from it.

You aren't a problem to solve. You are a person who deserves real support, starting exactly where you are.

How We Work Together

Even a life that looks put-together can quietly come undone.

Individual therapy in Pasadena focuses on something straightforward: we slow down enough to understand how you got here, and we find a different way to move.

This isn't a place to perform wellness. It’s a space to be honest. We get curious about the habits that drive your life and start making choices from intention rather than fear. I use an integrative approach responsive to your specific needs. We draw from psychodynamic exploration, somatic awareness, and mindfulness to work on multiple levels: your thoughts, your feelings, and your nervous system’s underlying responses.

I don’t diagnose you or hand you a workbook. I see you as a whole person, the things you carry, the ways you cope, and the life you want to build. We move at a pace that feels honest. Sometimes we sit with the uncomfortable. Often, we discover that a "flaw" was actually a strategy that made sense at one point but no longer serves you.

Together we can:

  • Uncover the roots of anxiety, numbness, or relational friction.

  • Trace the patterns you’re tired of repeating without shifting into blame.

  • Build a relationship with yourself that feels steadier and less harsh.

Hi, I’m John

My own path to this work wasn't a straight line. Therapy, both as a client and clinician, has been a profound part of my journey. My own work over the past 15 years has shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. It's helped me show up more vulnerable in my relationships and in the world. I know firsthand how healing it can be to feel seen and supported over time, to have someone walk with you through the messiness, the breakthroughs, and everything in between. That experience is what led me here to become a therapist and to offer others the kind of presence and partnership that helped change my life.

I provide individual counseling in Pasadena to help you navigate life's uncertainties through deep human connection and intentional growth.

Why Individual Therapy Matters

Stop white-knuckling through life.

Therapy provides support that goes beneath your coping mechanisms rather than layering more on top.

Master your patterns.

Patterns aren't random. When you understand their origin, you reclaim control.

Share the heavy stuff.

Having someone hear you without an agenda is rare. We create that space here.

Move with steadiness.

We don't aim for a "fixed" version of you. We aim for a version that is grounded, responsive, and self-aware.

Build intentional relationships.

How you relate to yourself shapes how you relate to everyone else. We start the work there.

Find purpose, clarity, and a self you actually want to come home to.
